Comtech Telecommunication announced last week that Raytheon has awarded its Comtech PST Corp. subsidiary a $4.6 million contract to develop the integrated radio frequency (IRA) assembly to be used in Raytheon’s Enhanced Position Location Reporting System (EPLRS) UHF radio. Deliveries of the IRAs—which include a high-power RF amplifier as well as the UHF RF assembly—are expected to begin in February 2005 and completed by July 2005, Comtech said. The EPLRS radio network, used by the U.S. military, automatically reconfigures itself to overcome line-of-site limitations of UHF, as well as jamming threats.
