Veraz Networks unveils compression solution
Veraz Networks has launched its new Wireless Network Compression solution that lets wireless carriers and service provider use voice over IP (VoIP) to lower operational costs when they are required to transport calls over oft-expensive leased lines.
Based on Veraz’s I-Gate 4000 PRO media gateways, the Veraz solution delivers voice compression as great as 12 to 1, which lets carriers reduce the costs associated with leased lines or meet rising traffic levels when additional lines are not available.
“For mobile operators, our solution actually enables them to significantly lower the toll that they currently pay, and thus provide much more competitive rates to their customers,” Amit Chawla, Veraz’s executive vice president of global marketing, said in a prepared statement.
