RELM wireless said the National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST) has validated its DPHx radio, part of its BK Radio line of digital portable radios, to FIPS 140-2.
The validation of the company’s encryption solution marked the “final hurdle”of the product’s engineering cycle, according to RELM President and CEO David Storey.
“The DPHx is now one of the very few digital two-way radio products with a validated encryption solution that is compliant with the public-safety digital radio technical standards under APCO Project 25,” Storey said in a statement.
