Calumet City, Ill., is using Cisco’s 4.9 GHz wireless mobile interface card in the Cisco 3200 Series wireless and mobile routers located in police patrol vehicles for safety departmental communications and access to high-bandwidth data applications.
Calumet City plans to integrate 4.9 GHz technology with its existing 802.11b wireless network infrastructure to activate various public-safety applications. The city also plans to install Cisco 3200 mobile access routers with 4.9 GHz technology into other public-safety vehicles.
