FreeWave unveils multipoint network
FreeWave Technologies launched its newest communications protocol, the FGRIO Modbus multipoint network. According to the company, it eliminates the need for wired connections between the host and the remote terminal unit (RTU). The network facilitates direct analog and digital wireless connections to all FRIGIO functions. The master radios deliver data to the RTU or programmable logic controllers through a 232/485 data port and offers a 20-bit analog conversion. In addition, it supports as many as 246 slave radios.
The company also is offering a new solar power kit with a 5 W, 12v solar panel. It has a 4-amp charge controller, a 12v, 7-amp hour battery and promises a ruggedized, weatherproof enclosure. Mounting hardware and wiring are included.
