The civil division of the Onondaga County, N.Y., Sheriff’s Office is deploying Hand Held Products’ Dolphin 7900 mobile computers for field-based data collection. The product is an industrial PDA that uses what the company calls wireless full area networking (WFAN)—or integrated wireless personal area network, LAN and WAN communications—for the wireless transmission of data.
