High bids in the auction of 700 MHz totaled $19.401 billion through this morning’s 70th round, but there has been no additional activity in the much-scrutinized C and D Blocks.
Bidding on the C Block, which includes open-access obligations for the winner, surpassed the FCC’s $4.6 billion reserve price, but there have been no new bids on the continental U.S. licenses during the last 40 rounds. In the D Block, which includes obligations to build a nationwide broadband network for public safety, there has been no new offers since a first-round bid of $472 million, well below the FCC’s $1.3 billion reserve price for the spectrum.
