Senator announces AFG grants
U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.) announced that 18 Indiana fire departments will receive funds from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program totaling nearly $1.4 million. AFG funds are used to increase the effectiveness of firefighting and emergency response operations, as well as to improve firefighter health and safety programs.
