FirstNet hires telecom veteran Seybold as a contractor
Mobile wireless consultant Andrew Seybold—a longtime supporter of public safety, particularly during its efforts to convince Congress to reallocate the 700 MHz D Block to first responders—has been hired as a contractor for FirstNet.
Seybold confirmed that he has been hired as “senior public-safety communications advisor” for FirstNet, serving as a contracted consultant. Seybold said he could not discuss the projects he is working on for FirstNet, but he did express support for the FirstNet staff members that have been hired to date.
“Being on the inside now, I have a huge amount of respect for the general manager and the team he’s put together—it’s absolutely top-notch,” Seybold said during an interview with IWCE’s Urgent Communications.
