Axis Communications: IT support of physical security has increased

Vince Ricco, business development manager with Axis Communications, talks to IWCE’s Urgent Communications at the recent International Society of Technology in Education conference held in Atlanta. Ricco said he has observed more IT support of physical security in the last couple years. “The mentality (three years ago) was not on my backbone. Have your own backbone. Build your own backbone. But now they’re saying, ‘We’re going to support this. We’re going to consolidate the resources and now support the intelligent edge,’ which is the network video, access control, pro-AV – these types of applications that are all adjacent and probably new to IT.”
