Looks like the majority of people answering this survey (2016 all the way through 2020 or later) have it right. Since we know that we are just now beginning FirstNet’s Initial Consultation process, it is safe to say that it will be at least 2 years before we see networks being completed. Plus, we know that it will not reach all states and all parts of the states at the same time. In addition, the Act states that the spectrum auction proceeds that are to be used for building the infrastructure of the network will be deposited into the Public Safety Trust Fund. Any funds remaining in the PSTF after FY2022 will revert to the US Treasury to be used for deficit reduction. So yes, sometime between 2016 and 2022 ought to be a good estimate, depending on where you live.
