Polaris Wireless: Scot Gordon talks about 3D location tech for 911 callers, first responders
Scot Gordon, director of advanced technology for Polaris Wireless, outlines technological progress toward delivering vertical location—known as Z-axis information, even indoors—for cellular callers dialing 911 by using hybrid data from multiple sources, including Wi-Fi systems and barometric-pressure sensors on smart devices. Such technology also could be used to help track the location of firefighters and other first responders during an incident.
