Sonim: Bob Escalle demonstrates capabilities of SLED, enabling LMR comms with a rugged LTE device
Bob Escalle, Sonim Technologies’ vice president for the public-safety market segment, demonstrates the Sonim LMR Enhanced Detachable (SLED), which attaches to a Sonim XP8 rugged LTE smartphone to enable LMR connectivity on P25, DMR or NXDN networks using 2.5 watts of output power. The entire package is expected to retail for less than $1,500, and many users can qualify for significant discounts on the cost for the XP8 smartphone.
