Emil Olbrich: Now is a good time for public safety to learn about 5G

Emil Olbrich, president of PrimeLime Consulting and vice president of network technologies for Signals Research Group, highlights some of the progress—and challenges—associated with early 5G deployments. One of the earliest proponents of public-safety LTE more than a decade ago, Olbrich says it may be some time before first responders will utilize 5G, but now is a good time for public-safety and government officials to become familiar with newest broadband wireless technology.
