Motorola Solutions: John Touvannas demonstrates features of new APX NEXT P25 radio

John Touvannas, Motorola Solutions’ senior director for product management, showcases key features of APX NEXT, the company’s new P25 radio that includes LTE connectivity and ViQi, a voice-assistant technology. Touvannas shows how SmartConnect technology lets the radio automatically switch from an LMR voice connection to an LTE connection to deliver push-to-talk communication, and he also demonstrates how ViQi can be used to control settings on the radio. Touvannas spoke with IWCE’s Urgent Communications Editor Donny Jackson last week during the IACP 2019 event in Chicago.
