A packet data implementation of the international 3GPP Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) standard. Time Division Duplex (TDD) is used, allowing operation on unpaired spectrum. Chip rates of 3.84 and 7.68 megachips/sec (Mcps) are supported, for operation in 5 MHz and 10 MHz channels (6 MHz and 12 MHz in the 2.5 GHz band).
