Qualcomm, Samsung expand 5G performance
Qualcomm and Samsung have completed a carrier aggregation to improve 5G performance and flexibility, in what the companies say is a “world-first project.”
The partners performed the first ever simultaneous 5G “two uplink and four downlink” carrier aggregation for frequency division duplexing (FDD) spectrum, using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 5G System and Samsung’s 5G dual-band and tri-band radios.
Snapdragon X75 is the world’s first modem-radio frequency (RF) system with a dedicated AI tensor accelerator.
The announcement marks the latest milestone in Qualcomm’s goal to deliver faster 5G globally leveraging Snapdragon X75, responding to rising demand for network capacity and faster connectivity speeds.
