Troy, Mich.-based New World Systems said it has been awarded a $4.5 million contract from the City of Providence, R.I., to deploy its Windows-based Aegis/MSP public-safety software and related services. The software provides integrated computer-aided dispatch functionality, police and fire records management and field-reporting capability across multiple jurisdictions, the company said. Training time is expected to be reduced because the software operates on the Windows platform, which is the standard operating system used by the City of Providence, the company said.
