Ingham County, Mich., has awarded M/A-COM a $9.8 million contract to install an enhanced digital access communications system (EDACS) that will be the foundation for the county’s new public-safety communications network. The network will link all police, fire and emergency service personnel throughout the county. The four-site, 10-channel UHF trunked radio system will support the county’s 1600 radios and will replace the current conventional system. It also will enable interoperable communications between Ingham County-based personnel and personnel in surrounding counties, as well as the Michigan State Police, M/A-COM said.
