Motorola to license P2T-over-cellular client software
Motorola announced it would license its standards-based push-to-talk-over-cellular (POC) client software to third-party GSM/GPRS and UTMS handset manufacturers
Motorola announced it would license its standards-based push-to-talk-over-cellular (POC) client software to third-party GSM/GPRS and UTMS handset manufacturers and software developers. The decision will help speed the introduction of a “wider choice” of POC handsets, the company said. The software client is designed to run on a mobile phone or voice-capable personal digital assistant (PDA) and enables fast one-touch communications with one or many users, Motorola said. The software will be available through the company’s Global Telecom Solutions Sector (GTSS) or third-party software developers.
