A Chicago Fire Department spokeswoman has suggested that a hacker could be responsible for the sixth racial slur broadcast over the department’s radio network, accoring to a story in the Chicagoi Sun-Times. The paper quoted CFD spokeswoman Molly Sullivan as saying, “Anyone can buy radios. While it is illegal to to broadcast into an emergency service network, according to the FCC, it can happen. Just because it’s illegal doesn’t mean people won’t do it.” The CFD is under fire from Chicago Mayor Richard Daley for the slurs, which so far have gone unpinshed, the Sun-Times reported.
