SmarTrunk makes wireless features available to LMR operators
SmarTrunk announced during IWCE 2004 that it would make available to LMR dealers and operators an expanded set of features that, on top of existing features, create a line-up that replicates the offerings available from wireless carriers such as Nextel. The features include Caller ID, late-to-join, voice encryption and automatic roaming registration. Existing features include voice mail, call forwarding, call transfer and voice logging. In addition, SmarTrunk unveiled the ST-100N multiplexer with remote telemetry, which is designed to link the company’s ST-853 controller to its ST-510 switch. The multiplexer enables several linking options–including leased lines, spread spectrum, microwave, T1/E1, and RF phone line extenders–and makes voice-over-IP linking possible, the company said.
