The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials recently announced that Stillwater (Okla.) Central Communications has implemented the APCO Institute’s Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Program. The SCC, which employs 12 full-time communications specialists, provides call-taking and dispatch services to the Stillwater police and fire departments. The EMD Program provides public-safety agencies with a systematic approach to managing emergency medical service resources and providing medical assistance when needed to callers until trained responders arrive at the scene, APCO said.
