Anritsu unveils handheld cable and antenna analyzers
Anritsu yesterday introduced the Broadband Site Master S810D/S820D cable and antenna analyzers that provide “greatly increased” frequency coverage and enable the precise detection of faults in cables and antennas used in wireless backhaul and defense applications. The new models, which cover 25 MHz to 20 GHz (S820D), employ the company’s Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR) technique that utilizes RF and microwave energy, rather than DC pulses, resulting in earlier detection of faults that eventually cause catastrophic failure.
The S810D/S820D offer standard return loss, VSWR, cable loss and distance-to-fault (DTF) displays for installing, maintaining and trouble-shooting cables and antennas. In addition, an optional GPS receiver is available for providing location information with archived data, and an optional power-monitor feature enables the measurement of transmitters and long cables, when the analyzers are configured with an external synthesizer.
