Raceway adds WLAN system
The Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Pleasanton, Calif., has installed a Trapeze WLAN Mobility System. The network consists of Mobility Exchange switches, the RingMaster software tool suite, 25 indoor, dual-radio 802.11a/b/g Mobility Point access points and 18 MP-620 rugged, outdoor access points.
Financial enterprise upgrades wireless network
ERF Enterprise Network Services recently completed an encrypted, wireless financial network for Iberville Bank of Louisiana that connects 12 locations in 11 cities and covers more than 800 square miles. It consists of point-to-point links with the installation of two 180-foot monopole towers, one 120-foot tower, eight 100-foot towers and 34 Motorola industrial microwave dish radios, according to the company. Security is achieved through its CryptoVue hardware and biometric encryption devices installed at each branch location.
Ariz. medical center buys software to manage RFID data
The Tuscan, Ariz., Medical Center will deploy USBiogistics’ Concourse, an enterprise support software for integrating data captured through RFID tags into medical workflow applications, such as patient tracking, asset management and facilities services.
Companies tout interoperability testing
IBM and T3Ci announced they have completed interoperability testing of a new software standard for RFID technology that may improve the speed and quality of data exchanged between trading partners and manufacturers in the supply chain. The testing was driven by standards developed by the Electronic Product Code Information Services for the exchange and query of RFID data, according to the companies.
Wireless nodes deployed by New Mexico town
Red River, N.M., has traded in its wireless mesh network for
MeshDynamics’ MD4000 family of Structured Mesh wireless nodes for outdoor 802.11 Wi-Fi networks. It supports IEEE 802.11e class-of-service standards and expanded Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 security, according to the company.
