Planar Systems entered the public-safety and fleet-management market with the LX1200, an in-vehicle, touch-screen monitor built for emergency-response and fleet vehicles. The monitor has a touch-screen display that can be activated by a gloved finger or stylus, as well as a rugged magnesium enclosure and a transflective display for sunlight readability. It also features a video-blanking capability for data security and privacy, according to the company.
