Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has been awarded a $1 million contract to oversee deployment of a prototype command-and-control software system for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. According to the company, the 13-month project expected to conclude by November 2008 is part of an effort to provide a common operational view of first responders in the field and will interoperate on the department’s existing communications equipment and infrastructure.
