Upcoming educational opportunities … and a cancellation
By Stacey Orlick, IWCE's event and content director
As we move towards a more comprehensive way to serve our customers, we have hosted several different educational opportunities for IWCE’s attendees and readers of IWCE’s Urgent Communications during the past several years.
The IWCE tradeshow itself is the best example of where you can receive education for the changing communications technology market. With more than 100 workshops, short courses and training classes, IWCE provides a year’s worth of education in one week. The upcoming conference in March 2016 will be no different.
But IWCE takes place only once a year, so IWCE has launched a series of online learning classes to supplement that education. These low-cost, pay to attend webinars provide education throughout the year on topics that weren’t covered at IWCE, or are updated from the conversation in March. Upcoming classes include a cybersecurity discussion on the Internet of Things (IoT) in October by experts from Capitol Technology University, a smart cities overview in November by leading speaker Andres Carvallo, and discussions on indoor location and backhaul in December and February, respectively.
These classes will set the stage for the in-person event next March, and IWCE’s Urgent Communications readers can attend each for only $79. Sponsored webinars, where a vendor wants to speak on a particular topic, are also very popular for continuing education.
With so many educational opportunities available in the next six months, IWCE has come to the decision to cancel the Virtual Tradeshow. The three webinars that were scheduled to be conducted during the Virtual Tradeshow will now take place as a webinar series in the following schedule:
- September 30 * 11:45 am – 12:45 pm ET: Everything FirstNet, from Early Builders to State Consultations to RFP
- November 4 * 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm ET: In-Building, HetNets and Towers: How Do They All Fit Together?
- December 2 * 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm ET: The Evolving World of Command and Control
IWCE and IWCE’s Urgent Communications are dedicated to providing exceptional education from leading industry experts that our attendees need to be the best at their jobs. Keep an eye out for new opportunities to network and learn. Thank you for your continued support!
