A new federal report shows the nation’s efforts to improve public safety wireless communications interoperability are succeeding.
The National Interoperability Scorecard, a state-by-state assessment of public safety wireless communications interoperability shows that overall, the nation’s interoperability score improved 41 percent, from 40.82 on a scale of 100 in 2001, when the first State Interoperability Index was released, to 57.65 in 2003.
The National Interoperability Scorecard was completed and released by the Public Safety Wireless Network (PSWN) Program, a joint initiative of the Departments of Justice and Treasury.
