Motorola Solutions introduces latest version of the Minitor pager
Motorola Solutions understands that “the needs and environments of volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel are unique and challenging,” Helm said, noting that, in many instances, “budgets are small, distances great, cellular coverage spotty.” Yet there is still the pressing urgency to communicate effectively in order to save lives.
For example, some rural volunteer firehouses may not have the resources or the need to equip everyone with the higher-priced pagers, but providing options allows different firehouses to come up with a total solution that is most cost effective, Helm explained.
The same rationale could apply to other industries such as chemical plants, security agents, government agencies, and even surgeons who want the technology of a voice pager. Many people in these fields need the “reliability and ruggedness” of the Minitor VI, Helm said. In addition, the added ability to customize capacity and coverage, which is essential in order to delay overload and ensure that you can get through, make the pager an attractive option when compared to standard cellphones and smartphones, he said.
“That is why the Minitor continues to be requested and demanded,” Helm said.
The Minitor VI will be available for order on Monday, with an expected ship date of Feb. 17.
