VIEVU announces upgrade to its VERIPATROL management software
“It’s really the first video-management platform in law enforcement that has that ability,” Lovell said. “We’re the first body-worn video company to do this feature.”
This transcription service is available through Net Transcripts, Lovell said. When an officer shoots video from a body-worn VIEVU camera like the LE3, there is an option to send the audio portion to Net Transcripts, which provides a full transcription of words spoken on the video.
This capability can help keep law-enforcement officers in the field instead of spending valuable time writing reports at a headquarters facility, Lovell said.
“We think it’s the next evolution,” he said. “The fact that [officers] actually can now do this work inside their cars is going to be a real time saver for them. We have a lot of state patrols that never go back to their precincts. As long as they have the ability to transfer and share , it’s a win-win for those guys.”
