Product Focus – Base Station Antennas
Antenna offers flexible weather seal Antenex’s Mountaineer family of vertical, fiberglass base station antennas feature flexible, 50-year rated weather seals on all exposed joints as well as a condensation drain system. Moving a threaded plug from the top to the bottom prepares the antenna for inverted mounting. A special top cap allows for a narrower taper with lightened wind loading. The woven fiberglass radome, with low-visibility sky-blue resin dye offers stealth characteristics. An industry-standard, nickel-plated solid brass N-female connector is used at the feed. The antennas have a cloverleaf-shaped foam damper. The antenna is also fully tested for return loss, gain and proper radiation pattern prior to shipment. WWW.ANTENEX.COM OR 800-323-3757
Antenna supports broadband applications The MSP24013MB adjustable sector panel from Maxrad is for 2.4GHz ISM applications. The panel provides adjustable horizontal beamwidth options of 45, 60, 90 or 120 in frequencies from 2,400MHz to 2,500MHz, with a VSWR of less than 1.5:1. WWW.MAXRAD.COM OR 800-323-9122
Directional yagi covers 406MHz-512MHz The YA3450WNHD from Radiall/Larsen Antenna Technologies is a heavy-duty yagi directional antenna. The five-element design offers a 9dB gain with a factory-installed weatherproofing feature and rugged mounting hardware. The gamma unit is fitted with a pigtail wrapped in weatherproofing tape. The pigtail is made of RG-213 coax and is terminated with either an N or UHF connector. The antenna features strengthened aluminum-alloy construction, and solid 3/8-inch welded elements. Wider hole pattern spacing allows heavier bracketry. This line of yagis consists of six models that cover the 406MHz-512MHz frequency band, with a maximum of 1.5:1 VSWR. No field tuning is required. The heavy-duty bracket and standard mounting configuration provides for vertical and horizontal positioning on a 2-inch-wide or less pipe. WWW.RADIALLLARSEN.COM
Yagi antenna offers solid construction The SCADA Master from Antenex is a rugged broadband yagi antenna designed for professional fixed-station applications. A welded aluminum mount makes it capable of vertical and horizontal polarization. WWW.ANTENEX.COM OR 630-351-9007
PCS antenna offers adjustable downtilt The PCS Optimizer (ALE196015) from Radio Frequency Systems offers a continuously adjustable downtilt capability for PCS frequencies. The antenna uses technology that avoids the use of moving metallic parts in the RF path when the downtilt is changed, offering long-term IM-free performance. Operating in the 1,850MHz-1,990MHz frequency band, the antenna is suited for moderate and dense urban environments where a horizontal beamwidth of 60 is preferred. It also avoids unnecessary antenna change-outs and permits inventory management. WWW.RFSWORLD.COM
Antenna enhancements increase signal strength Decibel Products has added Maxfill and Maxgain to the existing DB970/980 antenna series and the db Director series. The Maxfill feature minimizes co-channel interference, and Maxgain increases signal strength and the distance the signal travels. The DB970/980 PCS panel antennas provide high gain (8dBd-16.5dBd) with a front-to-back ratio of greater than 25dB. The Director is a panel antenna. WWW.DECIBELPRODUCTS.COM OR 214-819-4281
Array antennas offer system flexibility TX RX Systems’ broadband collinear array base station antennas offer system flexibility and pattern control in a lightweight, compact structure. A true, corporate-feed design, this omni-directional antenna has two patents. One model covers the 450MHz-512MHz range and is available with 0, 3 and 6 downtilt, as well as with 7/16 DIN or N-type connectors. This antenna is also available in 0, 3 and 5 downtilted models for the 806MHz-960MHz range, also with 7/16 DIN connectors. Inverted mounting is also available for all models.
