FCC extends 800 MHz interference reply comment period to Aug. 7
Responding to a request submitted by a long list of organizations with something to say about how to resolve 800 MHz interference to public safety radio communications, the FCC granted an extension today to the reply comment period in WT Docket No. 02-55. The new deadline for reply comments is Aug. 7. Click here to see related story.
In issuing its order to extend the reply comment period, the FCC took the opportunity to remind the petitioners that “extensions of time are not routinely granted.” The agency went on to point out that a previous request for 90-day extension only brought forth a 34-day extension. Saying that it was encouraged by the prospect of an industry-wide compromise and “in the interest of building a complete record,” the FCC said that it would grant the 30-day extension.
