Telecom Fiji has connected the dots to 37 Fijian islands – all of which have tourist resorts.
In an effort to tie internet access, reservation systems and high-speed communications with the resort’s mainland based offices, 4RF Communications supplied New Zealand-built Aprisa microwave radios to create a virtual private network and provide each resort with between six and 20 voice circuits.
Many of the resorts lie 10 to 75 kilometers offshore, an island environment with pathways reaching across great expanses of water. Each resort depends heavily on fixed broadband wireless to assist management in staffing, provisions and fuel resources as well as reservations.
