The Federal Communication Commission voted to allow wireless providers to lease unused portions of their airwaves – move that breaks from a decades-long federal standard.
The FCC voted 4-1 to break from the regulatory body’s 40-year-old stance on restricted leasing. The new regulations also allows leasees to work out separate deals without prior FCC approval.
