The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said this week that radiofrequency identification (RFID) technologies should be employed by pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers to secure the nation’s drug supply chain. The FDA’s report said RFID would enable the tracking of inventory throughout the supply chain and make drug counterfeiting more difficult.
