Worcester County, Md., has awarded a $5.6 million contract to M/A-COM to connect public-safety entities to the Maryland Eastern Shore Interoperability Network. The company will deploy its Network First Solution to connect state, county and municipal law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical personnel, as well as U.S. Coast Guard personnel. The NetworkFirst solution links disparate radio networks by converting analog signals to digital data packets and transporting them over a wide-area IP-based network.
