EFJohnson to move operations to Dallas/Fort Worth area
EFJohnson announced today it would move its Waseca, Minn., operations to a new facility in Irving, Texas. The company said it expects the Waseca facility to close by March 31, 2005. Previously, the company had announced in October 2003 an expansion of its engineering resources in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Since then the company has concentrated the development of its Netelligent Infrastructure Systems product line in Irving.
The Dallas/Fort Worth region is a well-known hotbed for engineering talent, which EFJohnson hopes to leverage, according to Michael Jalbert, chairman and CEO of EFJohnson parent EFJ, Inc. “The moving of our operations to Irving enables us to access a broader talent base as we evolve from a hardware manufacturer to a software-centric design and marketing organization,” Jalbert said in a press statement.
Jalbert added that the region also offers a “larger and more diverse poolof suppliers,” as well as “universities performing leading research in our industry.”
