Reminder: FCC wireless E911 conference scheduled for next week
The FCC’s Wireless E911 Coordination Initiative will be held in Washington, D.C. April 27-28 at commission headquarters. The conference will focus on public/private partnerships to accelerate E911 deployment. FCC Chairman Michael Powell will deliver the keynote address on April 27.
The first day also will provide a federal legislative update, an FCC policy update, a status report of other wireless E911 initiatives and a roundtable discussing the role public/private partnerships can play in deploying wireless E911.
The second day will include a presentation by the National Governors Association, as well as panels on stakeholder coordination and next steps for multi-line telephone systems to facilitate E911 inside buildings. In addition, a Technology Demonstration Room will be available to attendees to view and discuss the latest technological innovations directly with vendors.
