Digital Dispatch first half 2004 earnings more than double

Digital Dispatch reported net earnings of $1.1 million for first half 2004, a 148% increase over the $428,000 reported for the same period last year. For the recently completed second quarter, the company reported net earnings of $759 million, a 4.5% increase year over year. Earlier this month the company announced its plans to purchase all outstanding shares of Maddocks Systems, a private software solutions firm that serves the transportation and logistics industries, for $10 million, a deal that is expected to close on September 17. It also announced contracts this month worth a total of $1.7 million to provide mobile computers and in-vehicle surveillance systems to taxi companies in Finland and France.
