The Parisian public transit agency RATP has awarded a contract to Nokia to deploy a TETRA network that will provide coverage to the agency’s rail and bus lines. The network will consist of six TETRA switches and about 500 base stations and will provide mobile voice and data communications for more than 10,000 personnel, Nokia said. The project is scheduled for completion in 2007.
