RELM Wireless announced its board of directors has rejected a second overture from Wireless Age Communications to merge the companies. In a July 26 letter to Wireless Age CEO John Simmonds, RELM chairman George Benjamin said RELM is not for sale and that the company would not respond to future overtures. Wireless Age submitted its unsolicited proposal on July 16—which was rejected by RELM’s board—and then resubmitted the proposal on July 22. Wireless Age had proposed a stock-for-stock merger, according to RELM.
