Kenwood two-way radios to be used by security personnel during the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, next month will be upgraded with encryption modules developed by Transcrypt International, the company’s parent, EFJ, Inc., said. Voice privacy products will be installed in about 3500 radios, to protect against eavesdropping on confidential radio transmissions during the heavily secured event, according to EFJ president Michael Jalbert. “This will provide security personnel the confidentiality they need to conduct operations, “Jalbert said in a statement.
