Kodiak P2T network to deploy in West Africa
Kodiak Networks said it has reached a reseller agreement with Republic of Ghana-based Westminster Finance & Marketing to deploy Kodiak’s Real-Time Exchange System throughout West Africa. The deployment will let commercial wireless carriers offer push-to-talk services as well as advanced voice services such as instant group conferencing, real-time availability/presence updates and instant voice messaging. Under the agreement, Westminster will support Kodiak’s SIMpower client that enables AVS functions on GSM handsets.
In related news, Kodiak announced a reseller agreement for its RTX System and SIMpower client with Moscow-based Ester Solutions that will bring P2T and advanced voice services to wireless subscribers in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Also, mobile virtual network operator Amp’d Mobile will use the RTX System to deliver P2T functions over a 3G wireless network targeted to users in the 18-35 age group.
