Vivato has unveiled the VA4200, an 802.11a/b/g indoor Wi-Fi access point/bridge. The VA4200 can be coupled with the company’s base stations to increase capacity or extend the range of a Wi-Fi network.
The tri-mode functionality of each radio allows configuration in 802.11a and 802.11b/g mode simultaneously to service both 802.11a and 802.11b/g clients. Cross-band configuration of the VA4200 (one radio in 802.11a mode, the other in 802.11b/g mode) allows it to act as an out-of-band bridge allowing Wi-Fi service to be delivered in the 2.4 GHz band while data backhaul occurs in the 5.8 GHz band, the company said. Target markets include warehouses, universities, airports and military facilities.
