M/A-COM lands $4.75 million military contract
M/A-COM announced it has been awarded a $4.75 million contract from the U.S. Army to build the second phase of an interoperable communications system that will simultaneously serve the Army, Navy and Air Force.
The contract calls for M/A-COM to deploy its P25IP trunked IP communications system in conjunction with its NetworkFirst interoperability solution. The initial phase of the Joint National Capital Region (J-NCR) land mobile radio system linked 11 Army installations in the J-NCR region.
When Phase 2 is complete, the system will enable interoperable communications between personnel at 17 Navy installations and one Air Force base in addition to the original 11 Army bases, as well as with civilian public-safety agencies in Maryland, Virginia, New York and Pennsylvania, M/A-COM said.
