SmartLink Radio Networks said this week that Brunswick County, N.C., has deployed its I-Network interoperability platform that the county is using to interconnect dozen of public-safety agencies in its footprint. Prior to deploying the solution—which is set up to let users operate autonomously in routine situations but communicate interoperably as needed—63 agencies were using about 40 different conventional UHF and VHF radio and paging systems, the company said. The system also supports pre-programmed interoperable communications with FEMA, state agencies and public-safety agencies in adjacent counties.
