Mobile virtual private network software vendor Padcom announced this week that Ohio MARCS (multi-agency radio communications system) has selected the company’s TotalRoam software for a statewide deployment.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but Padcom said MARCS—a computer and communications network that provides voice and data services across the state—would purchase 4000 TotalRoam licenses to provide first responders with secure access to mission-critical information. Also, the software will let MARCS integrate its existing RF radio system with a public WAN and Wi-Fi hotspots, enabling the agency to protect its legacy investment while allowing access to next-generation, higher-speed networks, according to Padcom.
