Mobile virtual private network software vendor Padcom announced that Ohio MARCS (multi-agency radio communications system) has selected the company’s TotalRoam software for a statewide deployment.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but Padcom said MARCS — a computer and communications network that provides voice and data services across the state — would purchase 4000 TotalRoam licenses to provide first responders with secure access to mission-critical information. Also, the software will let MARCS integrate its existing RF radio system with a public WAN and Wi-Fi hotspots, enabling the agency to protect its legacy investment while allowing access to next-gen, higher-speed networks, according to Padcom.
