APCO offers communications training course
The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International released its new fire service communications training course, “Fire Service Communications, First Edition.” The course addresses firefighting and fire service apparatus and equipment; the role of the fire service telecommunicator; and training on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS), covering FEMA IS-700 and IS-100 training requirements.
2048-bit RFID chips meet ISO/IEC standards
STMicroelectronics released two 2048-bit, long-range, RFID memory products that are compliant with ISO/IEC 15693 and 18000-3 Mode 1 RFID standards for tracking applications. Both products have 2 kilobits of electrically erasable user memory and an on-chip, RF interface operating at the 13.56 MHz carrier frequency, according to the company.
